If you’ve been suffering from headaches, whether it’s tension, sinus, or chronic headaches, we can help. While most headaches will go away on their own using some or all of the many natural methods such as cold compresses, essential oils, massages, and chiropractic care, you can avoid the use of medications altogether.

But there are some instances when headaches will require treatment to keep them from returning.

If you’re not sure what type of headaches you are dealing with. Here are some ways that you can tell,

Tension headaches are also known as stress headaches. They are the most common and can be felt around your forehead or the back of your head. It’s usually a dull pain, tightness, or pressure that is often described as though your head is being squeezed. These headaches can last for 30 minutes or a few days.

These are caused by a number of things, whether it’s work pressures, relationship aggravators, or just the normal life challenges you face daily. Let’s face it, we put our bodies through a great deal of pressure on a daily basis with repetitive activities - looking down at our phones, working on a computer all day, driving for long periods of time, and even the way we sleep can result in a stress headache.

When the muscles in your neck become overstretched from these types of activities, the muscles become weak, and this subjects them to an increased risk of tension headaches. Through massage, spinal adjustment and supplementation, you can find relief from stress headaches.

Cluster headaches will come out of nowhere and are generally felt on one side of your head near your eye. The pain can sometimes spread to your forehead, temples, teeth, nose, neck, or shoulders. These types of headaches are severely painful and will often last for 5 to 10 minutes. They will go away and come back again just minutes later.

This type of headache is often the result of a pinched or compressed nerve. This can occur after an injury or from a shift in your spine. The improper alignment and position of your spine need to be corrected in order to eliminate these painful headaches.

You’ll need chiropractic spinal adjustment to relieve the compression from the nerves. This may require a few sessions depending on your conditions’ severity, but you’ll begin to feel better shortly after.

Sinus headaches are a result of built-up pressure from your sinuses from allergies or an infection. They are usually felt in your cheekbones, forehead, and bridge of your nose. The pain will increase when you move your head too quickly. These headaches can be treated with supplementation or antibiotics, steam, and time.

These are just a few of the types of headaches you experience, and getting rid of them is often the only thing that matters. Give us a call today to schedule your appointment so you can finally feel more like yourself. Not only is getting chiropractic care going to help improve your headaches, but you’re also going to improve the overall function of your body as well.
